Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland
Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland
A summer take on a winter favorite.
Lauterbrunnen, known as the valley of 72 waterfalls, is Mother Nature showing off at her finest. And you can take full advantage of all the warm-weather activities the valley has to offer in the summer months—like paragliding or hiking—all the while taking in those spectacular views that seem to go on for eternity.
Did You Know?
Seventy-two waterfalls cover the Lauterbrunnen Valley, where up to 20,000 liters of water per second cascade over the ten glacier falls. It’s not easy to get to—it can only be reached during the summertime via tunnel lift—so take advantage of the season by making a trip up there. The most famous of the falls is the Staubbach Falls, one of the highest free-falling waterfalls in all Europe. |
