Summer in the Nordic Island Nation
As Iceland prepares to open its arms to tourists on June 15th, we’re day-dreaming about swan diving into the sparkling Blue Lagoon, road tripping around Ring Road, scuba diving the Silfra Fissure, stuffing our faces with local seafood in Reykjavik until it’s necessary to unbutton our pants, and exploring all that the Golden Circle route has to offer. We’ll be waiting with our passport ready to be stamped, ready to consume all the adventures to be had and sights to be seen, from the dramatic landscapes – geysers, volcanoes, hot springs, and lava fields – to meeting friendly locals, and getting cozy in cocktail bars. From long days and whale watching in the summer, catching the northern lights in the winter, and admiring the arrival of the puffins in the spring, each season brings plenty of good reasons to visit this Nordic island nation.
